Please note that this report is a brief summary of several larger, ongoing investigations in Greater and Little Chiswick, Lambington, and London. All applicable case file numbers can be found in Appendix 1 of this report.
The murders that Adrian Blair has committed over the past several years have caused untold suffering to the families of his victims, and the justice system will prosecute him to the fullest extent of the law. It is thanks to the bravery and insight of both the police and one of Blair's potential victims that he has been arrested and this report is being written.
Blair has a long, foul history of violence against women, including stalking and several violent assaults. It was because of one of these assaults that Blair came into contact with his one known male victim, James Fox.
Blair and Fox were briefly in prison at the same time when Fox was serving his sentence for the violent actions he committed against his ex-wife (see Appendix 2 for case info and brief summary). According to Blair's confession (Appendix 3), the two bonded over their misogynistic views and other similar hateful ideologies. When the two were released, Blair claims that he tried to recruit Fox to his cause, trying to convince him to join him for his next spree of homicides with which he intended to target Ginger Burnet, a resident of Little Chiswick, with a campaign of terror as revenge for some perceived slight from many years ago.
However, Fox instead fell into alcoholism and harassed those he deemed responsible for his fall from grace (see Appendix 4 for details of his various petty charges and records of arrest).
This, Blair claims, angered him and so he killed Fox for this betrayal. He tried to implicate Miss Burnet in this murder by using a set of knives that belonged to her (see evidence report for Fox case) but was unsuccessful in doing so. Blair then went on, over the course of less than two weeks, to murder Caroline Williams, Emily Cameron, and Stephanie Albright (full case numbers can be found in Appendices 5, 6, and 7).
As these events unfolded, Miss Burnet took action in a way that became crucial to the investigation at a later date. In a bid to understand who was targeting her and why, she undertook research and found distinct similarities between Blair's murders and those committed by Daniel Lind, aka the Recluse Killer, many years ago. She reported her findings to Detective Inspector Valerian Burnet and myself, allowing both police forces to continue the investigation and gather evidence to support the theory of a copycat killer.
Over time, this led to further evidence that will be crucial in Blair's trial (see Appendix 8 for a sample of the evidence), posts written by Blair himself. These posts both implicate himself and link him directly to Miss Burnet and the woman he refers to as his "trigger", Carrie Wallace (Carrie Marshall at the time of her interaction with Blair). There is a full interview with Carrie Wallace regarding her history with Blair available upon request.
A detail of great importance came from Blair himself during his confession when he claimed to have been in contact with Daniel Lind himself. This has been opened into a separate investigation at the prison where Lind is currently in residence and it has been discovered that Lind has indeed been using an illegal device to access the internet. It is believed that the device and wireless internet were provided by a former nurse of Lind's who, upon being interviewed, appears to be suffering from hybristophilia and is romantically attached to Lind. I currently have no further details on the situation.
Blair's capture would not have been possible without Miss Burnet, who volunteered to put herself at significant risk to ensure his arrest. A full report of the situation, including access to audio and video recording from Miss Burnet's perspective, is available in the full report of this case.
Adrian Blair is currently awaiting trial. The prosecution team hopes to ensure he spends the rest of his life in prison. While it will not bring back the women that he murdered, it will hopefully bring some small amount of peace to their families.
Full autopsy reports, interview transcripts, and evidence are laid out in more detail in the full report.
